chateau larcis ducasse 2004

i've long dithered over establishing tasting notes, which is a shame as a lot of experience has unfortunately now gone by the wayside with just the best bouteilles stuck in my memory. no longer! i am taking an appropriately civilized stand.

appellation saint-emilion (gironde) grand cru

tasting notes -- heavy bouquet of plums and black cherries, some leather; tastes similarly, with modest tannin for the appellation -- not a difficult wine but robust in the best sense with a broad palette -- while not a great bordeaux, really lovely and enjoyable. very worthwhile.

their site. for whatever reason this bout really stirs memories of paris -- here and here.
